Administrators, engineers, and network architects who desire to broaden their skills and gain more understanding of the Cisco Unified Communications network can do so by taking the course, "Cisco Unified Communications Training : ACUCW2 - Administering Cisco Unified Communications Workspace Part 2: Advanced."
This course is five days long, and further explores what is learned in "Cisco Unified Communications Training, ACUCW1. - Administering Cisco Unified Communications Workspace Part 1: Advanced v8.0". This course focuses on administration of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) version 7 and 8. The course will teach you how to build a UC infrastructure, while also executing variable length on-net dial plans that support multiple sites and other others. You will also explore bandwidth management and use admission control tools that are used when managing the calling in of a network that has multiple sites. In the course you will also look develop a better working knowledge of mobility features, including extension mobility, unified mobility and device mobility among others. You will also learn about Cisco Unified Workspace Licensing (CUWL).
While no formal prerequisites are required, you should have some experience performing very basic CUCM administration functions. It is also helpful if you have had exposure to the CUCM Administrative GUI. This is also a good course to choose after taking "CIPT1 v6.x/7.x - Implementing Cisco Unified Communications IP Telephony Part 1". This course would help provide the information you need to know for this one, such as knowing very basic CUCM administration functions and also gaining exposure to the CUCU Administrative GUI. Additionally, no router configuration is required for the course. This course is not only good for administrators , network architects, and administrators to broaden their knowledge of the Cisco Unified Communications network. It would also be a helpful course for anyone who has overall responsibility over Cisco Unified Communications network, including administrators, engineers, and network architects.
After you have learned how to complete the initial system configuration, and after doing this from scratch, you will work with the new V7 and V8 features. These features include local route groups and more so global transformations. After finishing the aforementioned configuration, you will be able to break down the dial plan and simplify it in order to prepare for globalization. As you delve further inside this, the course will begin to present some of the challenges that globalization has relating to the American Numbering Plan (ANP).
Here are some of the key things that you'll learn in this course:
*Learn the basics of CUCM architecutre and learn the terminology of it.
*How to activate, start, and stop CUCM services.
*How the CUCM services work, including Platform GUIs.
*Explore globalization and it's challenges.
*Employ media resources for MOH and conferencing purposes.
*Learn how to configure advanced Class of Service tasks, like client matter codes, time of day codes, and access codes.
* Construct a dial plan that includes route patterns and route groups which support the NANP and phone calls to Europe.
*How to utilize bandwidth management and call control tools in order to control calls between sites.
The course is broken up into eight major parts:
1.) Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCUM): you will learn about the architecture, redundancy options, being an administrator over Advanced Options like CLI and OS, managing the initial configuration and configuring this within system parameters.
2.) Bandwidth Management and Call Control: In this section you will learn how to configure Codec use and how to implement call admission control.
3.) Implementing Call Coverage:
4.) Cisco Unified Presence
5.) Cisco Unified Workspace Licensing (CUWL): This part provides you with information on managing user accounts in CUCM using LDAP.
6.) Globalization
7.) CUCUM Mobility: In this part of the course you will work with configuring Codec use and how to implement call admissions control.
8.) CUCUM Dial Plan and Call Privileges: This section focuses on call routing components, digit manipulation, Local route groups and Gateway Selection. It will also cover calling privileges and also restrictions.
The course will also offer a series of many labs, designed so that you have the ability to work on the course information on hands. The labs range from topics such as Topology and deployment to extension and unified mobility. You'll also have labs on things like:
*Using digital manipulation by using global transformations
*SIP Trunks
*Geographic Routing and line device
*TEHO
*Implementation of media resources
*Using hunt lists and understanding call coverages
After successfully completing the course, you will take a final exam in order to demonstrate all that you have learned in this course.
There are also a couple of classes that you may want to consider taking after this one, that have proven to be good as follow up courses to this material. CVOICE - Implementing Cisco Unified Communications Voice over IP and QoS v8.0 is one that would be a good choice, and TUC - Troubleshooting Cisco Unified Communications Systems would also be a logical course to follow up with.
This course is offered complete with labs, material and instruction that will give you the foundation you need to be even more effective, and you will gain invaluable knowledge from it that will only help you move forward.

Testimonials:
"The instructor was excellent, his teaching style and re-enforcing the topics with examples worked well . It has been the best training I have ever had including location of the hotel to the training room, the food service (very good too) that saved many hours a day and the equipment was perfect for the tasks required of it. Getting out of class at 10:30pm and being able to walk over to the room and starting the studying at 10:45pm was such a big help. Was it easy? Not at all, it took discipline before the class (on-line sessions) 45+ hours and during the class. I went to bed at 1am or later each night and was up a going by 5:30am every day. Was I tired each day? Yeah but I signed up for a Boot Camp not a Skillpath Happy Hour. I got to catch up on my sleep Saturday PM AFTER I had the two exams passed!! Also the staff were exceptional; responsive and handled everything right away."
