Introduces Industry’s First Security-As-A-Service for Asset and License Tracking, Technical Support, Log Management, Authentication Management and Systems Maintenance

ATLANTA, GA.–June 18, 2007 – Vigilar, a leading provider of information security solutions and services, today announced availability of the ATLAS security-as-a-service solution, which enables corporations to do more with less, ease compliance and improve governance.

In surveying its extensive enterprise customer base, Vigilar found that keeping track of existing devices, keeping them up to date and providing technical support for these devices ranked top on their list of time-consuming activities. Analysts estimate over 80% of IT resources are spent maintaining existing systems. In addition, industry and government regulations, such as Sarbanes-Oxley and the PCI (Payment Card Industry) Standard, place an increasing time and technology burden on staff. With this proliferation of devices and controls, forward looking compliance, security, management, and governance efforts are often trumped by “problems of the day”.

The new ATLAS security-as-a-service provides enterprises with five key functions to help customers alleviate this burden - managed Asset and License Management, Technical Support, Log Management, Authentication Management and Systems Maintenance. ATLAS offers five modules, each of which can be purchased stand alone or as a whole. ATLAS customers can easily access their services and device status through ATLAS’ web-based interface at any time, all backed by the experience of Vigilar’s team of security experts.

  • Asset and License Management Module: tracks IT asset and license data – data critical for audit, compliance, and cost management. Enterprises today have a detailed grasp of their physical asset inventory, enabling them to reduce duplication and waste. The ATLAS Asset and License Tracking Module brings this same level of oversight to IT assets, tracking key data such as serial number, date of sale, location, and renewal date. It makes the data easily viewed and organized for audit purposes, providing historical snapshots for any point in time, costs by cost center and automatic maintenance renewal reminders to streamline the purchasing process.
  • Technical Support Concierge Module: enables quick understanding and escalation of support issues, significantly reducing the time and burden on IT staff. This module tracks trouble tickets and provides front line support across multiple vendors. In addition, Vigilar provides automatic escalation and 24x7 access to product vendor technical specialists, and weekly review of all tickets for resolution.
  • Log Management Service Module: provides a secured, tamper-proof, automated audit trail for all system and application components. This enables reconstruction of all user activity and events, in accordance with PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. To further compliance, the Log Management Service Module provides retention of log data for a minimum of one year. In addition, customers can have Vigilar’s team of experts conduct daily log reviews for event discovery and notification.
  • Authentication Management Module: With growing concerns about access to internal data and systems, combined with regulations such as FFIEC that require two factor authentication, many companies are looking to deploy solution for identity validation, including two-factor authentication, digital certificates, application access control or single sign on. These solutions require investments by the client in systems and personnel training. The ATLAS Authentication Management Module provides a fully managed turnkey solution for smooth implementation and on-going administration of various authentication platforms, implementing and managing customer's user accounts for various applications. This includes a customized, automated account approval process and global fulfillment of two factor authentication products.
  • System Maintenance Module: provides automated patch management, health checks, and other ongoing systems maintenance. Today’s proliferation of security devices requires a level of expertise hard to maintain in any organization. Configuration errors run rampant, and, according to Gartner, 95% of attacks result from misconfigured or unpatched systems . The ATLAS System Maintenance Module provides enterprises the best line of defense – keeping systems running, up to date, correctly configured and patched by a team of security experts highly experienced in these technologies.
